THE BRIEF
BJ’s is opening two new stores in Detroit, where most people think of the brand as… a favor.
Insight: Our target spends the same amount of money on entertainment as they do essentials. How can BJ’s bring the fun of entertainment marketing to the people of Detroit in an organic way?
Our Idea: BJ’s brings a giant shopping cart to the biggest auto show in the country: the Woodward Dream Cruise.
What we made:
Concepted the idea around bringing the Shopper Chopper to Detroit, as well as made calls and negotiated with Cal VanSent, owner of the sweet, sweet ride.
We recorded and edited the sizzle reel below.
RESULT:
Before opening day, results beat expectations with 15% more signups at a cost 20% lower than their other launches. We also got some organic reach from local news outlets.
