SLACK WORLD CUP
By now, you must’ve at least heard of Slack. But in 2018, Slack was a lesser known but growing communication tool.
It’s aim: replace emails as the primary method of communication in the workplace.
THE BRIEF
Insight: In America, 70% of knowledge workers are disengaged from their job. Rather than showing up when they’re thinking about work, we showed up when they were slacking off.
Our Idea: Since sporting events are ok to stream during work hours, we wanted to show up during 2018’s biggest cultural moments: The World Cup.
In conversations with FOX, they very casually mentioned that they were already using Slack to power The World Cup. There were no other real time tools that allowed people to transfer things back and forth across continents.
So we thought, if FOX is using slack, there must be tons of other cultural touchstones that are powered by Slack and we just didn't know it.
What we made:
We designed the branded FOX Wold Cup war room and helped create four videos showing behind the scenes of the work behind the work for The World Cup.
Result:
Awareness doubled in two quarters. Shifted their marketing strategy from B2B to B2C at an enterprise level case study.
Slack was so successful that our agency, Noble People, was fired for being too small of a media agency for it’s business.
In other words: this idea is why Slack is what Slack is today.
